This is quite a fun game. There are a few of them in Michigan and I was lucky enough to be able to buy one. There aren’t a lot of information about these machines online so I thought I would throw some information about my machine on here. Please note that this machine is almost dead in terms of parts provided by Namco and its subsidiaries. It’s sad, but true. I have located a few things for this machine and Quick & Crash ( Quick and Crash ), which are extremely similar in design. If you have any questions I can try to help.

Namco Light Gun Sensors

At this point I have found a replacement sensor for Quick & Crash ( Quick and Crash ) and Cool Gunman games. It took a year or so the check everything over, but I have found a sensor to be able to sell to other owners of the game to keep it alive. I have them working in my game(s) and they haven’t given me any problems other than the normal problems. If you are interested please contact me on Facebook and I can send some out. They are $3 per sensor plus shipping paid over Paypal. Currently have two sized. Large and small. Small is the size you would normally get from Namco. Please note these are not the exact same sensors sold by Namco.

I would contact Namco of America. They had one last time I checked. However, if you need the optic changed out Speedy’s One Stop will repair that for you.

hi my quick and crash die just can hear some clac clac cclac trought the speaker nothing else . where can i find a new game board¿

I have not found any places actively selling the game boards. Normally what I have seen done is buying a second machine and parting it out. I have personally done that and I know of locals that have done that. I have seen them sell between $125-$700 in the Michigan, USA area.

There is a possibility you could get it repaired by Speedy’s One Stop. I used to buy parts and get repairs from them before they discontinued service and sales on Quick & Crash a few years back.

You may have done this already, but I would recommend checking the fuses, voltage, connections, and that all of the chips are seated correctly. You can always email me some videos and images of the boards and I can do some visual checks.

Im fully restoring a cool gunman and have a spare populated playfield for parts but most of the sensors and plastic caps are toasted. Also, the CPO artwork is roached and seems someone took a picture of it and printed it out on paper and taped it to the game. So im needing some sensors and any help on the caps and artwork. Thanks!

    • Vix says:

      Hello Kyle,

I will email you about the sensors. I have a few for sale and can send them out pretty quickly. As for the artwork and the caps. I do not have anything official to replace the sensor covers for the play field. I have seen clear mini poppers, the redemption prizes, used and have worked. However, it’s not OFFICIAL, but a cheap replacement with some glue. Another arcade used some redemption capsules. They are larger, but works as well. The artwork is a little harder. I do not have any artwork for references on replacement other than the messed up one that came with my game, which mine is damages as well. I was thinking of commissioning an artist to redo the artwork on the front, but that’s a future project.

        Dear Vix
I own one of these light guns but the holes for the back sights are missing. Also there is no back sight^^ Could you please take a look in the service manual you got and see whether or not the holes are depicted? I assume that what I thought to be a Quick & Crash gun, might be a strange Cool Gunman gun.

        • Vix says:

          Hello Ben,

After our email investigation it looks like your Quick & Crash Gun is really a Cool Gunman gun.

Good luck on the video! 🙂

Having Dot matrix display issues on my quick and crash. We finally got everything else working!! Yaaaay!!! Without the DMD we cant see high scores and see the service menu. I am testing good 5.27VAC on the DMD board, but wanted to know of you had some troubleshooting tips.

Do you have an additional Display to sell.

    Thanks for all the info!

  7. Great info, thank you for sharing, I am currently restoring one of these amazing games and wanted to know if you have a high res picture of the plastic down arrow in the middle of the game right underneath the scoring. It has a can in the center of it, i have searched high and low, but i can i cannot find any good images of the holder-down facing arrow itself, also there were supposed to be 4 different can stickers, i have 1, and you posted 1 does anyone else have the other 2?

    Many Thanks
    Rick

I know what you are talking about, but I have no idea where mine is. Mine was in a little baggie of stuff and it’s somewhere in a box. I never put it on the machine since it was in Japanese, I could not figure out how to mount it, and it was missing the plastic can for reference. I went through some old files I took years ago and found a blurry image of it. This is the best I can do until I found the actual item (who knows when that will be)

I don’t know of anyone else that has extra items that came with the game. The original owner I bought mine from said that a friend of his had the original plastic can. I was hoping to get one, but never heard anything else on that. Per the manual the game came originally with 1 sticker set of 8 (maybe 16 both sides) and 9 plastic cans.
